Political Promiscuity?

Supporters who used to snap and snarl "Hillary's my gurrrrrl" seem to be talking differently now...

I suppose the logical reply from the Obama camp is to make their own video with rewritten lyrics to the theme from "Happy Days"?

Quote of the Day

"What Mrs. Clinton has that Mr. Obama does not have, Mr. Obama can get. What Mr. Obama has that Mrs. Clinton does not have, she can never get."
(And you'll never guess who said it.)

Blast from the Past

"I believe experience counts, but it's not everything..."

More Sophomoric Humor

(With all these kids getting politically active this election, it's no surprise the level of humor and creativity is equally juvenile. Still... I giggled.)

Quotes of the Day

“She has to win both Ohio and Texas comfortably, or she’s out,” said one superdelegate who has endorsed Mrs. Clinton, and who spoke on condition of anonymity to share a candid assessment. “The campaign is starting to come to terms with that.” Campaign advisers, also speaking privately in order to speak plainly, confirmed this view.

The parody was inevitable, who knew it would be this funny--and pointed. Tragically amusing, and tragically true.

Good luck with that, Senator McCain.

Obamarama Friday, Smackdown Saturday

Whew. Friday I took the day off from work to attend the Rally for Obama at Seattle's Key Arena (more photos at my photo blog) and it was an electric event. Then on Saturday I attended my cacucus, which strained to deal with throngs of people streaming in to make their voice and vote heard--over four times the number of people who attended in 2004. As the above map shows, Obama won handily (all but the one purple county; the percentages show the Obama victory margin). An amazing day.

UPDATE: Turns out Douglas county mis-reported their results, and Obama WON THAT COUNTY TOO.

Hillary Comes To Seattle, Seattle Youth React

I was unable to get to the Hillary event, but the Seattle paper The Stranger has this report and the above video of the "youth vote" reactions to her. (They promise to interview "some really really elderly people" about Obama's rally today.)

But I myself am going to the Obama rally after all. Photos coming soon...

A Delegate Balance

As of 9:30pm, PST, Feb 6:

CNN ("including superdelegates and pledged delegates") says: Clinton 823, Obama 741

MSNBC says: Obama 838, Clinton 834

FoxNews (citing the Associated Press as the source) says:Clinton 1024. Obama 933

NPR ("includes pledged delegates plus party and elected officials" and also citing the AP) says: Clinton 1045, Obama 960

Post-Super-Tuesday Reality Check

Newsflash: TPM reminds us Barack Obama is Not Jesus.

But we don't vote for Messiahs. We vote for leadership. He's still got my caucus-vote this Saturday (for some of my reasons why, see my comment as "Andy Niable" here) and apparently all eyes are gonna be on my state, the largest delegate-stake on the first post-Super-Tuesday contest day.

Obama arrives in Seattle tomorrow, and has a rally at 11 am (which I can't attend due to work). Hillary's campaign had originally scheduled to send Bill, but Hillary herself apparently decided to show up, and has a rally at 8pm.
